The Los Angeles Clippers survived a late scare to defeat the Dallas Mavericks 97-91 in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on Sunday. Kawhi Leonard led the way for the Clippers with 28 points, while Paul George added 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Mavericks, who had won Game 6 in Los Angeles, led by eight points late in the third quarter. However, the Clippers responded with a run in the fourth quarter to take the lead. Leonard hit a key three-pointer with two minutes remaining to put the Clippers up four points, and George made two free throws to seal the victory.
The Clippers will advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face the Phoenix Suns. The Suns defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in four games in their first-round series.
