Franky, the cyborg shipwright, initially appears as an antagonist in One Piece. However, after a series of events, he joins the Straw Hat Pirates in Episode 322.
Despite his protests and resistance, Franky's unwavering determination and loyalty ultimately lead him to become an invaluable member of the crew.
Origins and Backstory
Franky Family
Franky was born into the Franky Family, a group of ship dismantlers. His birth name was Cutty Flam, but he changed it to Franky after the death of his mentor, Tom.
Enies Lobby Arc
During the Enies Lobby arc, Franky betrays the Straw Hats and joins the CP9 agents. However, he later realizes his alliance with the wrong side and joins forces with the Straw Hats to defeat the World Government.
Joining the Straw Hats
After the Enies Lobby arc, Franky's underwear is stolen by the Straw Hats as a way to convince him to leave with them. Despite his initial reluctance, Franky eventually agrees and joins the crew in Episode 322.
As the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, Franky is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the Thousand Sunny, their iconic ship.
Unique Characteristics
Franky is a highly skilled engineer and mechanic, capable of creating and modifying machines with incredible precision. He is also known for his eccentric personality, his signature blue hair, and his tendency to remove his underwear when he gets excited.
